Mixing Old With New

Recycling furniture or using salvaged wood, units or objects can really bring a unique statement to a kitchen, as well creating a good excuse to recycle old objects.  Mixing old and new together can work in perfect harmony if put together correctly. Here are a few ideas you could use in your kitchen.

This is a lovely way to mix old and new together. Recycling old timber boxes and timber panelling to make up the draws and shelving. Then placing an ultra modern cooker within this. They really complement each other.

Clip old office lights or spot lights onto shelving to add light.

Use antique jars or boxes for storage.

Old furniture can look really good in an old or bran new environment

Thick slabs of timber from an old oak tree can be used as a table surface.

Introduce second hand furniture into an new clean environment.

Use trestle table legs as a base for a kitchen table. The top could be made from timber or glass.

Metal shelving could be used to add additional open storage.
